Welcome to My Horsey Blog!

Hi, I am Meiwei and this is my old horse, Ginny. In this picture she is 16 years old. She was a rescue from a person who was abusive to her. Poor pony!
Ginny is a Welsh-Hackney cross. She is 12.3 hands tall at the withers. The withers are the top of the horse's shoulders. Horses are measured in "hands". A hand is a grown-up size hand and counts as 4 inches across the palm. So if Ginny is 12.3 hands then she is 49.2 inches tall to the withers.
A pony that is taller than 14.2 hands is called a horse.
